Sheida Kashi's award-winning short 'Bystander' is to vie at 2018 FIFAK- International Amateur Film Festival of Kelibia in Tunisia.

The short flick was picked out of 2730 titles sent to the festival from around the world, competing with approximately 50 films at this year’s edition.

The film is a cinematic depiction of a society that does not tolerate differences and is heading for total destruction.

In the flick, an old man spends days looking through a window from where he sees a dark world whose past memories of an active revolutionary shine on and off in his mind.

Iranian rep has won several awards from international film festivals, including the Best Animation prize at the 18th Picture This Film Festival (PTFF) in Canada.

Founded in 1964 by the Tunisian Federation of Amateur Filmmakers, FIFAK was the first film festival in Africa. More than 1200 film lovers attend the event each year.

The latest edition of the festival is slated for August 12-18, 2018 in Tunisia.
